A little bit of a break

What can I say.....it's been a long time.

Mainly down to this little fellow.

Actually he's growing fast.

Hopefully all the walking will shrink his owner......

but maybe not until after the holiday season!

Holidays Are Coming!

At Last!

Yipee!

No more rushing around in the morning.

No more packed lunches.....it's picnics from now on!

The parent's meetings are over and new schools have been visited.

Ready for a family wedding and a trip to the beach.

Next the caravan needs packing and we are off to France.

I can't wait!

Procrastination!

A word that is plaguing me at the moment! It should really be a swear word.

Productivity.... there's another annoying word.

Why can't I get things done?

What is the secret to motivation ? Is that another of those words?

Answers on a postcard please.

Wind Swept and Wonderful

Why does the weather have to improve beyond belief once you are back from a trip??

Last bank holiday weekend we hitched up our caravan and headed to the North Norfolk Coast for a mini break by the sea.

Three families, three caravans, three dogs!

Freedom for the kids...tearing around, football, kites and swingball.....and drizzle!

A trip to Felbrigg Hall (a beautiful Jacobean house now owned by the National trust) which has the most amazing walled garden.

It made me realise that I am more than a little behind with my little patch!

However NO trips to the beach as rain and stormy winds made it spectacular to look at but impossible to picnic on!!!

BUT

The fun really began as the evening drew to a close. BBQ and wine enjoyed. The winds picked up and all around the camp site rushed to fasten everything down. A sleepless night followed while the winds rocked the caravan and pulled at the awning. The next morning we woke to discover our friends' awning had ripped off in the night and they had been trying to rescue it at two in the morning!

Now we are home the sun is shining and the washing is dry.

Summer is Here!

At last the sun has decided to shine on our little island.

Time to think of BBQs and trips away with the caravan.

And don't forget the weddings.

Bliss!

Garden Shame!

I have a little vegetable patch tucked away in a corner of my garden.

But

it does not look good!!

Hidden amongst all the weeds were two hidden treasures......

a hidden but healthy row of rocket that must have reseeded from last years crop

and

a beautiful violet!

I think I have some serious gardening to do now!!

A Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us.

My sister-in-law to be asked if I would design and make their wedding invites.

What fun I had cutting and sticking!

Aprons - short or long?

A spring apron. Freshly produced and ready to wear.

I love it! It's bright and cheerful with a generous measure of girlie-ness.

But should it have been a cover all apron?

My mum prefers these short sized aprons. What do I prefer?

If the truth were to be told.......I always forget to wear one!

Only when covered in cooking do I remember what I should have worn.

Come to think of it I should probably cover up.

I must dig out the pattern for Amy Butler's domestic goddess aprons......

A Fresh Idea

I love reading blogs. I love the fact that the writer could be anywhere in the world and most likely someone I will never meet. I love the ideas and the inspiration strangers can share. I am also incredibly nosey!
